My first visit today. I am always nervous to go to the dentist. There is always a problem that needs to be fixed. I for sure thought I had horrible issues, since I haven't been to the dentist since right before Covid. Xrays good! Yay. No worries. Cleaning needed yes, but no up selling. They are so nice and down to earth. I felt comfortable the entire time. So glad I found them!

Been going to this crew since I moved into PDR in 2017, and it's been top notch all around. I wrote a review a few years ago but it disappeared for some reason, no idea why. But glad to write one again. Deb was as charming as she was effective, and Dr Guttman knew how to handle patients. I never had any major work done, just some cleanings, but I'm really selective about where I go and literally put my money where my mouth is. I moved to DC and actually flew back a few times just to see them. A great team that I'll most def miss.

Wow I've had multiple dentists tell me that I have a nerve issue which makes it very difficult to numb my mouth during procedures. Because of this I have always be subjected to terrible sharp shooting pains during simple fillings. Dr. Guttman took his time to ensure the anesthetic was properly injected and spread to the area which made a world of difference. I got my first completely pain free filling done today and am so happy I met Dr. G.

It is normal to be a little nervous going to a new dentist but it turned out I had no need to worry as I had a very good experience. Since this business is on the second floor make sure to call and get the door code before the visit as the cell phone service in the area is a bit spotty. The office is in a small shopping center which has its own parking so you do not need to search for a spot. They are currently having one patient at a time so you get their full attention and do not have to wait. The dental hygienist was very professional and was careful when cleaning my teeth. I appreciate that she was very detailed and did not hurt my gums when cleaning. Dr. Guttman was very complementary about my teeth and even through in a joke while examining my teeth. I recommend this dentist office because they did a great job!

Dr.Guttman and his amazing staff are the best. ( Paula the receptionist is such a doll!) I’m terrified of the dentist, and actually found them by searching “Dental Chicken“! On Yelp! They have worked with me to get some serious dental issue fixed. I now go once every 4 months for a cleaning (Debbie is the best!!) , and look forward to seeing them. Debbie the hygienist has 30 years of experience and it showed as she was awesome! My teeth feel super clean and I am looking forward to my next appointment which I feel like I haven't said in a long time. The entrance is kind of hard to find it's the mysterious door next to the sushi place with a staircase on the other side then go to the left at the top of the stairs.

I would definitely recommend this dental practice to all of my friends, everyone was so sweet and helpful! I’ve never felt so cared for at a doctor’s office until now, thanks to Gabby, Rose and Dr. Guttman himself. In the past I visited a few other dentists around Los Angeles and Santa Monica, and had rather negative experiences of them trying to sell me stuff, “finding” things to make me sign up for more procedures, and even once leaving me unsupervised with a bunch of tools in my mouth for a long period of time that burnt my gums. So my expectations were not high at all, but Dr. Guttman and his staff made my visit very enjoyable and easy, very pleased!

Dr. Guttman is the best dentist I have ever had. The office is so clean, and very easy to make appointments. Dr Guttman never made me feel pain or hurt during the procedures. Wow, it’s been a LONG time since I found a practice that’s compassionate & friendly. I’m a HUGE chicken when it comes to the dentist as I spent my Jr. high school and High School years missing class for my braces. So, I’m hesitant for any work to be done as the past few dentists had really not been so great. Dr. G and his professional team really hit the ball out of the park and sent me home happy and clean. Dr. Guttman and Debbie, the dental assistant, manage to make going to the dentist a pleasant experience. The office decor is a throwback; it feels homey and lived-in, which is calming. The dental technology they use, however, is very up-to-date, which is also calming--it's clear from the get-go that you're going to receive excellent care. Debbie is fun to talk to and displays a genuine desire to make certain you're comfortable while she works; I hadn't been to a dentist in more than a year, and she gave me a thorough yet painless cleaning. Then Dr. Guttman examined me and gave me a clean bill of health. I highly recommend this place.

I had a horrific experience where I contacted a bad gum infection from a shiester dentist several years ago. The infection ran through my while mouth and I was in horrific pain. I was terrified to go back to a new dentist! (I already was dental phobic before this bad dental experience!) After several consultations with other dentists, they all told me I would probably lose all my teeth. I found Dr. Guttman through an add that catered to "dental chickens" and called. Everyone from the receptionist (Paula, who's so compassionate) to his Hygienist Debbie and especially Dr. Guttman, we're simply amazing!! Kind, compassionate, calm and worked with me on price. He not only saved all my teeth, but I go every 4 months for a cleaning and never even need numbing gel!! I can't recommend them highly enough!

Always have had a pleasant experience at Dr Guttman dentistry! I have had dental insurance for the past three years and went to another dentist to use my insurance however Dr Gs prices are competitive to having dental insurance vs not having dental insurance. Most dental insurance are bare bones and cover up to a certain amt year and one cleaning with very minimal discount on all other services. You can get in less than a day or two which is really great too for emergencies! I still have my dental insurance but my dentist I’ve seen for the past three years all of a sudden stopped taking my insurance. I didn’t want to go through the hassle of researching and waiting to find a new one so I went back to DR Gs. It didn’t break the bank and they got me in the very next day which I needed since a filling fell out. Hiss staff Debbie in particular are friendly, caring and personable. Even though it’s been years since going to Dr Gs, they knew me as soon as I walked into the door which is great feeling because you know they take the time to know all their patients vs patients are just a numbered chart. Also the procedure was very tolerable and comfortable. I def will.be going back again and saving the monthly fee I pay per month for terrible dental coverages.

I hadn't seen the dentist for almost eight or nine years. And the friend of mine referred me to this dentist. My overall experience was amazing and I'll be honest I don't like the dentist. But I got out of cleaning. X-rays and I ended up having to get two cavities filled and the process is fairly quick and efficient. The staff is stupendous and polite in conversive which helps a lot. It sounds horrible but my mouth completely fill the different it actually feels clean. Kind of grossed out for how long I wasn't really taking care of my teeth. So I will be making this my permanent dentist.

Communication was great before, during and after the office visit. All questions answered and they were very thorough taking the time to explain very thing they were doing and why. I have not been to the dentist for way to long. So, I was totally expecting to have some cavities and other problems. Dr. Guttman took x-rays and did the usual search. If he had said that there were some cavities, I would have believed him and given the go ahead. I was quite pleased to hear him say NONE. Honesty that was refreshing. I would definitely recommend Dr. Guttman and his staff.

Came in today for a 2 quadrant deep cleaning, and used the sedation option. I was awake during the procedure, but did not feel anything. The hygienist talked me through everything she was doing. The assistant that cleaned my teeth initially (Debbie) came by to check on me as well. I cannot express how much I love this office. I don't remember how I found Dr Guttman but I'm so happy and grateful that I did. I had been looking for a dentist that helps soothe anxiety, and while I live in Glendale and have a 45+ minute drive to see him, it's completely worth it. The staff is sweet and kind. Debbie was so easy going during my X-ray appointment, and explained what all of the images meant. I've never had a doctor take the time to do that for me, and it took a lot of the anxiety away. It had been around 5 years since I had been a dentist so I had a cavity that needed attention before it became a root canal, and they took care of it on a Saturday, and created a plan of action that had me unaware what was happening to me. The Dr did everything he could to diagnose my problem. When he couldn't, he referred me to an endodontist. Because of his stellar reputation and relationship with them, they made the exception to see me the same day. May pain was Dr. Guttman's pain and he made me and my situation a priority for him.

Dr Guttman is such a gentle personality and he made my procedure so easy that I did not actually require the sedation i thought i would need. He is kind and warm hearted and professional. I experienced no pain after the novocain injections. He answered all my questions and I left the procedure completely satisfied with my care. For someone with no dental insurance prices were totally reasonable too. Also I got an appointment in 48 hours of calling. Nice text based appointment reminders.

Beyond 5 stars for Dr. Guttman and his team!! I hadn't been to the dentist in over 2 years because I no longer had PPO insurance after I changed jobs. I found Dr. Guttman on Yelp and chose him from the reviews and proximity to my house. I was the Guinea pig for my fiancé and best friend as they were looking for a new dentist as well. I went for a full check up, x-rays, deep cleaning, cavity and teeth bleaching for my upcoming wedding. I was not disappointed. Debbie took great care of me and cleaned up my teeth. I felt like I had a brand new mouth by the time I left. She was very thorough and got to every nook and cranny. She also handled my impressions for teeth whitening and you can tell she knows what she's doing. Aside from the great dental work, she is great fun to chat with and makes you feel right at home. Dr. Guttman took care of my cavity in no time. I think I was outta there in no more than 15 minutes. Since my cavity was so minor, I was advised I could go through the procedure without Novocaine. I took the doctor's advice and hardly felt a thing. Dr. Guttman was so gentle. He fixed me right up and I never felt any pain before, during or after! The price for their work is totally reasonable and the quality is superb. They are the absolute best! I sent my best friend and fiancé to have their procedures done and now we're all converted loyal patients of Dr. Guttman's. I highly recommend anyone looking for a great dentist with or without insurance to go to this office for anything! Thanks, Dr. G!!

As for many, it is always difficult to find a dentist when you move to a new area. If you find yourself in this situation or just looking for a new dentist, look no further! Dr. Guttman is the BEST!! I was recommended by one of my co-workers and was so happy they did. When I first called to make an appointment they were closed for the day, but Dr. Guttman must've been checking the messages because he called me back and told me "we will schedule a cleaning asap and are going to take really good care of you". What kind of doctor does that anymore?!?!? No one but Doctor Guttman. Dr. Guttman and his hygienists are so caring, gentle, professional, lighthearted, and knowledgeable. I have always been a person who has been afraid of the Dentist, even at an age over 50. I must say I just had the most unbelievable visit with Dr. Guttman and his entire staff. If I had to rate their level of professionalism, on the scale of 1-10 it would be a 10. This is my first time meeting Dr. Guttman, and he is a Dentist that really cares about his patients, I could tell that he is a very compassionate person and a professional from the very beginning, I had several procedures that needed to be done, and the timing of completion was critical due to a very important business trip that is scheduled for the East Coast.. I meet the Dr, along with Paula and Debbi, who were extremely supportive of my needs and worked with me on a short notice to get things started and completed. MY experience was so favorable that if I lived anywhere else in the country I would fly back for my service. This is service like the old days when businesses really cared about their patients. My last point is that Dr. Guttman communicates what he is doing as he is completing his procedures, and that made me feel very relaxed and eliminated the tense feeling i had before i got to his office. One extra thing is that because he has a gentle voice, it makes a difference. I would recommend Dr. Guttman and his entire staff as your future dentist.

I became a new patient because if the reviews. The reviews were right on. He has an extremely light touch, which is important. He was not in a hurry, which is important. He was super polite. He also did not try to sell me on anything or push appointments on me. His staff is super accommodating and not in a hurry. Most of all, he knew right away what was going on with a long term problem I have been having with a bridge...that tells me that he knows what he's talking about, because I had already had 2 opinions on what I need to do....I knew what the problem was. He found it intermediately. Patience with patients is a must, I believe he understands this profoundly.

Dr. Guttman is amazing! What's really amazing is that I'm writing a review for a dentist. I love having nice teeth, but I don't like going to the dentist. My brother was raving about how professional and nice he was, and most importantly he is a gentle dentist. My brother and I are "dental chickens", and lucky for us Dr. Guttman caters to dental chickens. Hallelujah. I had been going to the same dentist for 20 years, but I was looking for a dentist that was as nice, and gentle as my dentist, but more convenient and where I didn't have to pay $18-$20 to park each time. Dr. Guttman's office is convenient, cozy, comfortable, and FREE parking. It's like being in a living room, all he needs is a fireplace and it would be perfect (I guess that's a little much for a dental office), but you get my drift. Listen to this he is open for business two Saturdays a month - OMG! I had an appointment on a Saturday to have all of my old silver fillings taken out and refilled with white fillings. Well let me tell you, I took these two little pills at 7:00 am, my appointment was at 8:00 am. My husband drove me to the office, and the next thing I remember is getting up from my bed to get some water. It was wonderful. I had not consciously endured all of the medieval tools that are used in dentistry, and my mouth is beautiful. Now this you will not believe - Dr. Guttman called me on Saturday (I was told) and on Sunday to see how I was doing. Dr. Guttman is my new dentist, and (not to be outdone) my husband has moved over to this dentist as well. We are very pleased with Dr. Guttmanand his staff. His staff, Debbie and Paula are professional, warm and accommodating as well. I love the entire staff. I hope he NEVER moves his practice.

I am not one who easily welcomes change! My grandson is still teaching me how to use my iPad ...he's three. So I was a litle apprehensive when Dr. Guttman took over the practice from my former dentist who retired. I even tried to convince him to skip his golf game to come into the office and treat me. I am soooo glad he refused. Because I've now learned two valuable lessons ...change is inevitable, and Dr. Guttman is GREAT!! The office staff, Paula and Debbie, are carring professionals who never give you the feeling that pain will before and after the actual treatment. Dr. Guttman is kind, patient and explains everything thoroughly. He is a family man who really cares about families. Needless to say he treats my kids and my husband as well. We love Dr. Guttman! His newletters are cool, too! I wish I could give him more than five stars.

Dr. G is awesome! I moved to the LA area 10 years ago and I have been searching for the right dentist ever since. I found him. Past experiences included criticism and shaming around my dental health practices. Dr. G very gently pointed out opportunities for improvement and treated me like an adult. Visiting his office is like going home. It is decorated like a living room, is comfortable and immediately put me at ease. His staff is kind and supportive and best of all, were flexible when certain cleaning techniques were difficult to me, they quickly changed their approach and got the work done with a minimum of discomfort. Recommending Dr. G. is easy. I know you'll have a great experience (yes, even at the dentist!) and you will feel confident that you are well cared for.

I have been a patient of Dr. Guttman for a few years now. I was first recommended to him by my dad. He is very personable, gentle, and is phenomenal at what he does. He used to work in the city of Montebello, but when I called to make a routine check-up, I found out that he had moved to a different location I definitely was reluctant to change dentists, so the same day I found out the bad news, I made an appointment at the new office in Playa Del Rey. The receptionist was very accommodating with my schedule. She even called to confirm my appointment a couple of days ahead, and when I showed up early for it, they were able to bump up my appointment! How fantastic is that? I'm one of those people who has anxiety about going to the dentist. I went to Dr. Guttman in who is terrific. He has a nice low-key personality and a great sense of humor, and made me feel quite at ease. My last dentist was always urging me to have various procedures, and Dr. Guttman really sorted it all through and told me what was necessary and what was not. I will definitely keep seeing him.

Amazing dr and amazing staff. I have had issues for over 6 years and they fixed me all up in a matter of weeks. They made me feel complete again. I have had terrible dental experiences all my life from regular tooth extractions as a child (I had difficulty losing my baby teeth), braces, eight fillings (done in one day, the day I realized I have a high tolerance for novocaine and felt everything) and wisdom teeth removal for which I had to be given general anesthesia. After such negative experiences, I waited almost a decade before deciding to see a dentist after some of my metal fillings began to chip (not a desirable effect, obviously). After searching yelp I contacted Dr. Guttman (who very promptly returned all of my phone calls/emails himself) with lots of questions and the status of my teeth. He was so friendly and understanding on the phone (and non-judgmental!) that I came in the next week for an evaluation and had my teeth cleaned and fillings fixed within two weeks of the initial evaluation. Dr. Guttman and his staff are very professional but are friendly and genuinely seem to care about every person who walks in their door in a way I've never experienced with any kind of medical professional. While I'm certainly scared of dental procedures (though admittedly could be a lot more anxiety ridden), I opted for the oral sedation via pill which I was promised would completely relax me to the point of not being able to remember the procedure at all. I'll admit I was completely skeptical of this at first, not sure it would live up to the promise and I would again have to suffer through the full pain of the procedure as I had when i got my fillings. My appointment was on a weekday morning and I arrived early for my appointment having taken the first dose just before leaving the house (you need someone to drive you there and home). The next thing i remember is waking up on my couch in the afternoon with the tiniest bit of soreness in my mouth. I honestly don't remember a thing and missed out on all the fun noises, smells and sounds of dental work (the stuff of horror films!) - I truly would recommend this for anyone who is putting off their dental work due to fear of pain/experience of the procedures. Dr. Guttman and staff are such a great team. They really made it such an easy, gentle process. I'm actually looking forward to my next cleaning! Never thought I'd say that.

It was a record day for me seeing a dentist not waiting for years to go by because of my fear. Dr. Guttman knew how to deal with my fear and anxiety and I was calm. I actually went back to get another filling done. My son was shocked knowing I didn't like dentists and had a horrible fear of them and went back to Dr. Guttman after a great first experience. Anyone with anxiety or fear like me for years should go see Dr. Guttman. I actually looked forward to seeing him last Saturday.

I've had dental problems since I started teething as a toddler! Naturally, since every trip to the dentist ended up with me in tears as a child and young adult I developed a pretty big case of the jitters around going to the dentist - sick to my stomach, shaky, teary - all your classic anxiety symptoms. My fear of the dentist would normally keep me away just long enough to have a relatively small dental issue grow into a pretty severe one. Then I met Dr. Guttman. I went to Dr. G to have some previous work fixed up and was immediately put at ease. He is calm, honest, and matter-of-fact without being pessimistic or critical. He is very friendly and approachable but still a professional - bringing a very welcoming vibe to the office. The office staff - Paula and Debbie - are amazing. They're what brought me into the office and now Dr. G's attitude and approach actually make me WANT to come back and get all of my dental issues resolved! I recently had a root canal done by Dr. Guttman and, having had several in the past by other dentists, I have to say I'm completely satisfied by the quality of work - both inside my mouth and through the whole support and follow-through process. In the chair I was at ease before the work even started! Great office and great staff. I highly recommend!

Dr. Guttman is new to me, as he took over a Dental practice that I have been going to for almost 20 years. I have been lucky enough to not need much dental work (no cavaties), just cleanings... until now. I waited a long time between x-rays and cleanings, and ended up needing a root canal and some fillings. So, at almost 50 years old, there I was.... major dental work needed and a new Dentist to boot! Of course the staff that I've known for years is there- Paula at the front, Debbie skillfully assisting in the back. They are great and everyone there put me at ease. I have to say, though I didn't know what to expect- Dr. Guttman was great! Very gentle and caring, and explained what he was doing before he did it. That put me at ease, so I would know what to expect. I really like his gentle nature and caring attitude. I am very happy with the whole proceedure and how well it went. My crown fits great, the fillings look great, and I know that my mouth is in good hands. Also, I like the little touches, like text and email reminders for appointments. It's a small office , with a friendly relaxed feel, but they sure know what they are doing!

I was shocked and bummed out when I first found out it was about 40 minutes away vs the usual 15...but, I do only have to go twice a year, right? Shouldn't be so bad... I definitely was reluctant to change dentists, so the same day I found out the bad news, I made an appointment at the new office in Playa Del Rey. The receptionist was very accommodating with my schedule. She even called to confirm my appointment a couple of days ahead, and when I showed up early for it, they were able to bump up my appointment! How fantastic is that? The office itself is homey, modern, and the staff is very friendly. The whole process was not long, and on my way back home, I drove on the coast. (which is only a minute away from the office!) Gorgeous view!!! That sure was an added bonus =) All in all, it was great to see Dr. Guttman move on to a more exceptional dental office. In the end, I'm happy that I decided to stay loyal to my dentist.
